"This piece is inspired by my amazing breast surgeon, Dr. Betsy Washburn. At the time, Dr. Washburn was not even taking new patients, but she heard my story and immediately said, "Get her in my office." As a new mom scared of what the future held, just talking to Dr. Washburn brought a peace to my soul like no other. She made me confident that she was going to take great care of me and that I would not miss out on one thing with my baby."
